The TTB certificate — the most important timing note

The TTB (Turkish Medical Association) certificate of good standing has a 3-month validity window. Many doctors make the mistake of getting it first, then finding it has expired by the time they submit. The correct order: get all other documents ready, then obtain the TTB certificate and immediately proceed with translation and apostille. Frequently asked questions
Can I practise in Germany while waiting for Approbation?
Yes. A Berufserlaubnis (temporary work permit) allows you to work in a specific state for a limited period while your Approbation application is pending. It needs to be renewed annually and is tied to a single employer.
Will my Turkish specialist degree be recognised?
Not automatically. The Approbationsbehörde assesses whether your specialisation is equivalent to German standards. You may be asked to sit a Kenntnisprüfung (knowledge examination) or complete a supervised adaptation period.
